9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
A Benefit Event for Sierra Club San Diego Conservation Programs
Join with fellow Sierra Club members and friends as we venture out to locate gray whales. It is the height of the gray whale migration along our coast and your opportunity to see whales from afar and up close. Past trips have seen as many as 15 whales. You will also get to see other sea life such as sea lions, harbor seals, dolphins and some seabirds.
The boat is U. S. Coast Guard Certified and built for the open sea. It is modern, with full walk around decks that allow you to experience the excitement of whale watching. Spacious and comfortable seating indoors and outdoors with galley.
Bring your cameras and binoculars to make this a memorable whale watching trip. We recommend warm clothing, sunscreen and hats to be confortable.
DEPARTURE TIME AND LOCATION
Our boat will be leaving from Point Loma at H&M Landing, 2803 Emerson Street, San Diego, at 9:00 AM and return at approximately 1:00 PM. There is day parking in the lot next to H&M Landing ($8); there is some street parking. Early arrival is important.
Check in for departure begins at 8:00 AM. We will leave sharply at 9:00 AM
Allow plenty of time to get there and be on board.
WARNING: It can get bumpy on the water. If you are (or think you might be) susceptible to motion sickness, check with your doctor, pharmacist or organic supplier for appropriate medication. Most medications require usage BEFORE your trip (sometimes the day before). It is usually too late if you take it on-board.
WHAT TO BRING
- Photo ID (Coast guard rule), plenty of warm clothes and sun protection: sun lotion, hat, sunglasses including comfortable (warm) shoes with good traction for walking around on a potentially wet deck.
